Consul General Asiye Derya Dingiltepe graduated from the Department of International Relations at Ankara University's Faculty of Political Sciences in 1989 and holds graduate degrees from the School of Advanced International Studies (S.A.I.S.), Bologna Center, Johns Hopkins University and the Norman Paterson School of International Affairs at Carleton University.

She joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1992 and served in departments responsible for Protocol, Cyprus, Press and Information, and Bilateral Relations with Northern and Central European countries. She also served as Deputy Chief of Mission at the Turkish Embassies in Seoul, Buenos Aires, Mexico, Kuwait, Lisbon, and Copenhagen.

She speaks fluent English and Spanish, and intermediate French and Portuguese.
